Members of the Peabody High School class of 1955 gathered for a reunion this past weekend at Candelwyck Resort near Grove, Okla. Pat Hunnell, Carlene Bedner, and John Bloomer hosted the gathering.
Those attending the reunion were Hunnell, Keith Harsh, John and Cora Bloomer, Delbert and Pat Mellott all of Peabody. Rod and Twylah Williams of Florence, Mary Olson of Marion, Stan Hansen of Topeka, and Carlene and Carl Bedner of Emporia, all from Kansas.
Others attending from around the country were Sue and James Clark of Wichita Falls, Texas, Jim Guthrie of Silver Spring, Md, Lani Almond of Boyertown, Pa., and Victor and Barb Klingenberg of Grove, Okla.
On Friday, the group visited Har-ber Village and observed the antique collection Jones Trucking Line provided for tourists. Some of the buildings were replicates of earlier days. The site is located on the shores of Grand Lake.
The group took a dinner cruise on Saturday night on the lake aboard the Grand Belle paddlewheel boat.
The rest of the time was spent seeing the local sights, antique shopping, visiting the Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Ark., and relaxing at the resort. There was a rowdy game of Mexican dominoes or a card game each evening.
After breakfast at the resort on Sunday, attendees returned to their homes.
