Debra K. Mercer filed a petition April 20 seeking to quiet title to real estate held in a trust by Mercer and Monte L. Wedel to benefit Abbie Kay Wedel. Mercer claims Monte Wedel diverted income from renting and farming on the property and has not contributed to taxes or insurance. She seeks Monte Wedel’s removal as trustee and that he be ordered to pay double the amount of damages for his wrongful conduct.

Marion County Commissioners filed a lawsuit April 21 against Star Lumber & Supply Co. and Jonathan T. Hylsop seeking $51,926.88 for damages to a county truck caused in a July 6, 2021, accident at the intersection of Pawnee and 160th Rds.

Freedom Mortgage Corp. filed a petition April 19 against Elizabeth and Sally Alkire to foreclose a mortgage on property at 402 S Birch St., Hillsboro. Freedom Mortgage seeks $69,774.22, costs, interest, and taxes owed, and for the property to be sold at a sheriff’s sale.
