Peabody Senior Center will have a Christmas brunch at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
“We hope to get a nice crowd for our final day before Christmas,” site manager Ruth Lott said. “It is a wonderful kick off for the holiday.”
“Kim will fix her tasty breakfast casserole and either blueberry coffee cake or cinnamon rolls. That ought to give everyone a hearty start for last minute errands or shopping or to start out on their holiday travels.”
Reservations are required so the staff knows how much food to prepare. Call (620) 983-2226 to reserve a spot at the brunch.
The center will be closed Dec. 24 and 25, but frozen meals are being delivered this week to seniors who would like to have them. Reserve the meals with a call to the above phone number.
Regular meals will be served Dec. 26 through Dec. 31.
On Dec. 27, the seniors will be hosting Bingo after lunch and on Dec. 31 Kim will fix her famous pizza for lunch. Bob and the Boys will provide musical entertainment after the meal.
“Everyone should be sure to get their reservations in quickly so they don’t miss out on either of these events,” Lott said.
Meals for those 60 and older are $2.75 and for those younger than 60, they are $4.50. Lunch is served at 11:45 each day and reservations are requested.
Volunteers also are appreciated at the center. Anyone with a few hours to give is welcome to help in any of several capacities. Contact Lott at (620) 983-2226 for more information.
