CDDO to throw fiesta Tuesday

A Cinco de Mayo “Munch and Learn” fiesta at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Marion Community Center pairs food and learning under the theme “Pathways to Adult Life and Work.”

The program, sponsored by Harvey-Marion County CDDO, will focus on support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they move toward adulthood.

Shelly May of Lifeshare, Pathways Facilitator for Adult Employment/Day Outcomes, and Rocky Nichols of Disability Rights Center of Kansas will give presentations. An update on the Marion County Special Education Rural Routes to Employment Initiative will be provided.

Mexican food will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m., and presentations will start at 6:30 p.m.

Parents and guardians of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, special educators, community support professionals, service providers, and interested citizens are invited to attend the free event, which is open to the public.
