Thursday

First day of school for Peabody-Burns students and staff. Classes begin at 7:55 a.m. for elementary school students and at 8 a.m. for middle and high school students.

Prairie Lawn Cemetery board will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Peabody city building.

Friday

Peabody-Burns back-to-school dance at 9 p.m. at PBHS.

Saturday

Family back-to-school bingo for all ages, 1 to 4 p.m. at American Legion Hall. A portion of funds raised will go toward school supplies for Peabody-Burns students. Cards $5 for age 13 and older, $1 for those 12 and younger.

Tuesday

Peabody Police Chief Bruce Burke will address seniors at Peabody Senior Center immediately after a lunch meal. Burke will update patrons about what is new in the community and have a question-and-answer session.

Wednesday

Peabody city workers will spray for mosquitoes in the evening, weather permitting.
