Opening ceremonies for Cal Ripkin 11-year-old state tournament, 7 p.m., Peabody City Park. Fireworks at dusk. No charge.

Friday

Peabody Vacation Bible School, 7 p.m., Peabody United Methodist Church. Open to public.

Cal Ripkin pool play, 10 a.m. Nightcap game featuring Peabody at 8 p.m.

Saturday

Cal Ripkin pool play begins at 10 a.m., Peabody plays at noon. Nightcap featuring Peabody, at 8 p.m.

Sunday

Cal Ripkin bracket play begins at noon with hour break after first two games.

Wednesday

Peabody Recreation Commission skating trip to Wichita Ice Center for those age10 and older. Admission $7, includes skate rental. Participants should bring lunch or money to buy lunch and dress warmly. Bus will leave high school at 11 a.m. and return at 4 p.m.
