BURNS:   Burns Senior Center

Burns correspondent

A small group of Burns Senior Citizens met Sept. 9 at Burns Community Center for the monthly potluck luncheon. Dorene Kirkpatrick asked the blessing and the flag was saluted.

The program for the day was “Show and Tell” and included a wide variety of topics and treasures that made for a most interesting program.

Included were a recitation, “All about megabytes, etc.”, an old quilt started in 1939 and finished when the seamstress was 80 years old, a picture of a wooden tractor built by a son, a lamp made of a fruit jar with pictures and keepsakes in it, a 1910 autograph book and old Catholic prayer books, a couple of rings — one with a diamond from Grandma’s ring — and a Masonic ring more than 100 years old, a chicken foot “puncher,” and a memory bracelet.
