Burns man found naked, lying under tractor

Burns resident Gary Langenegger, 67, awoke naked and sunburned, not knowing why he was lying under a tractor Monday near Yarrow Rd. and the Marion/Butler County line.

Undersheriff Larry Starkey said a pre-existing condition apparently contributed to the incident.

“There’s obviously something going on there, but I don’t know any information,” he said.

Langenegger was taken to Newton Medical Center by Marion ambulance after being diverted there by Dole Veterans Affairs Hospital in Wichita.

Along with Marion ambulance, first responders from Burns also were dispatched.

Shelly Conrady, director of marketing for NMC, said she could not reveal information on Langenegger’s condition.
