BURNS:   Burns families busy with Christmas activities

Dusty Gaines, Ty and Kim Gaines, and Gunnar came Dec. 23 to the home of Ronnie and Pattie Gaines and Brooke, who spent last week with her grandpa and grandma. They went to Galva to the home of Kenny and Roma Koehn on Dec. 24, and were joined by Shawn and Joan Koehn and boys and Kim Sutphin. Everyone went to Ronnie’s on Christmas Day.

Marvin and Sherry Nightengale had a family Christmas with guests Mitch and Kathy Foote, Kristen Wilde, Brock and Sophie, Brad and Diane Nightengale and Casey, Roger Nightengale, Laura and Austin Locke and daughter, and Jim and Linda Hess, Allie and Amelia.

Christmas Day guests of Lawrence and Lois Sayers were Bruce Sayers, Megan and Zach, Adrianna, Jessica, and Josh, and Roy and Sara Wessel and Leroy.

Willis and Cathy Bender and Wendall of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, flew to Kansas on Dec. 22 to have Christmas with relatives. They stayed with Vernon and Judy Koehn, and were supper guests of Renferd and Wanda Koehn and Lonnie on Christmas Eve. Renferds and Dalen and Beth Koehn, Cody, Jessica, and Anthony were guests Christmas Day in the home of Vernon and Judy. They also were guests Dec. 26. The Benders left for home Dec. 27.

Many from the community attended a funeral for Jen Stucky on Dec. 23 at Grace Community Church in Newton. Dorene Kirkpatrick and Joyce Kyle attended then called on Evelyn Sidener at Asbury Park.

The Clark family celebrated Christmas at Cassoday on Christmas Day.

Wayne and Gloria Handle spent several days last week with Marie Clark.

Joyce Kyle spent Christmas Day with Bob and Becky, Kyle, Brody, and Braxton. She attended a funeral for Esther Stucky on Dec. 26 with Mary and Gary Langenegger. They then celebrated Christmas with family members at the home of Greg and Leola Langenegger.

This will be my last news report as I am retiring in January. I want to thank all for their contributions and please excuse the mistakes. Don’t forget Burns is still around.
