Burglaries of homes reported

At 9:30 p.m. Oct. 25, a burglary was reported in the 200 block of North Freeborn Street, Marion. According to Marion Police Officer Tyler Mermis, miscellaneous electronic equipment, valued at $300, and an equalizer booster amp, valued at $200, were taken.

At 11 a.m. Oct 27, construction equipment was taken from a residence in the 100 block of Ashley Drive, Marion. The equipment was valued at $150, reported Officer Mermis.

At 6 p.m. Oct. 27, someone threw three large pumpkins at a mailbox in the 1600 block of 50th Road, Peabody. Damages were listed at $100, reported Marion County Undersheriff Randal Brazil.

At 9 p.m. Oct. 27, an individual used a blunt object to damage a mailbox in the 700 block of Nighthawk Road, Peabody. Undersheriff Brazil reported damage estimates at $100.

At 10 p.m. Oct. 27, two additional reports of large pumpkins being thrown at mailboxes were reported in the 1000 block of 40th Road, Peabody. Damages were listed at $100 per mailbox, reported Undersheriff Brazil.

At 9:15 p.m. Nov. 1, two pit bulls were removed from their owners in Lost Springs after the dogs attacked a chow mix dog. The dog received six puncture wounds. The owner of the pit bulls had been previously warned by authorities regarding the dogs getting out of pens. Undersheriff Brazil investigated the incident.

At 8:20 p.m. Nov. 7, an individual reported someone had broken into his home in the 100 block of South Freeborn Street, Marion. Officer Mermis reported damages to the house at $150.

At 11:30 p.m. Nov. 7, an individual reported being assaulted in the 400 block of West Santa Fe, Marion. The perpetrator also was charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct, reported Officer Mermis.

At 6:30 a.m. Nov. 12, an individual was driving north on Alamo Road when the car became stuck in mud. An EMS unit was dispatched to the scene. According to Marion County Sheriff Lee Becker, when he talked to the driver, he could smell alcohol on the suspect’s breath. It also was determined the driver had a suspended license.
