Bulldogs defeat Warriors

Peabody-Burns football was handed another tough game Friday with a 52-6 loss at Bennington.

The Warriors’ defense had bad luck, both in the passing and rushing game.

Bennington had 54 yards through the air, but efficiently used that side to score three touchdowns.

Where the Warriors really fell hard was defending the run. The Bulldogs stacked up 310 yards on Peabody-Burns, tallying five touchdowns on 6.9 yards per carry.

Despite only tallying one score, the Warriors managed to do well in protection. The team gave up one sack for eight yards, and its lone turnover came on a forced fumble.

After dropping two straight to fall to 2-4 Peabody-Burns will look to right the ship this week. The team’s chance for redemption comes Friday with a late-season tilt with the county rival Goessel Bluebirds.

The Bluebirds are 4-2, but look vulnerable after being blown out 70-0 last week at Canton-Galva.
