Peabody-Burns senior Seth Topham set two school records en route to regional victories Friday in Herington. Lucas Larsen, Corbin Rives and Braxton Kyle also qualified for the state meet along with Topham, who will compete in two events this weekend.

“Seth Topham and Braxton Kyle qualified in high jump by placing second and fourth,” Coach Brian Lightner said. “Topham’s jump of 6-4 tied him for the school record.”

Topham also broke the 56-year-old, 110-meter hurdle school record with his preliminary round time of 15.59.

“We had eight personal records and two school records set Friday evening,” Lightner said.

Larsen and Rives placed third and fourth in javelin with throws of 152-8 and 151-7, respectively.

Other team members earning points included Cody Partridge — fifth in high jump at 6-0 and sixth in long jump at 19-0.25; Michael George — fifth in 400 with a time of 54.59; Rives — sixth in 400 at 54.78.

As a team, Peabody-Burns boys placed eighth out of 15 with 28 points.

The Warrior girls did not participate in the regional track meet.
