Bowlers place third nationally

A women’s bowling team sponsored by Sharon’s Korner Kitchen of Peabody, took third in a national competition.

The team competed against 3,200 other teams in the United States Bowling Congress Women’s Championships in El Paso, Texas.

The tournament began March 27 and ended July 4. The Korner Kitchen team bowled June 27 and 28. The five-member team had a team average of 762.

Team members are Wilma Broyles of Logan, Sharon Oursler of Peabody, Dixie Dibble of Woodston, Pauline Casey of Newton, and Chris Sander of Stockton.

Dibble placed 14th in singles competition against 15,000 other bowlers and second in all events, competing against 13,500 bowlers.
