Maddie Joyce Bowers was born at 4:35 p.m. on Jan 1 in Salida, Colo., at Heart of Rockies Regional Medical Center’s Family Birthing Center. She weighed 7 lbs, 1.5 ounces and measured 20.5 inches long.

Maddie’s parents are Cassie Hoberecht and Chris Bowers of Salida. Maddie has a sister Skylar, 19 months.

Grandparents are Pam Bowers of Marion, Gene and Joan Bowers of Kansas City, Claire and Arthur Hagar of Seattle, and Kirk Hoberecht and Lisa Barton of Salida. Great-grandparents are Marion Crofoot of Marion, Wanda and Speedy Hoberecht of Great Bend, and George and Jane Bemis, Great Bend.

Maddie was the first baby born in 2012 at the hospital.
