Bomb threat case referred to prosecutor

Staff writer

Peabody Police Chief Bruce Burke announced Tuesday that his office has closed the investigation into to the recent bomb threat at Peabody-Burns High School.

“The investigation is complete. All the information has been referred to the Marion County attorney for additional action,” he said.

A threat to blow up the school was written on a rest room wall on Feb. 14. An investigation by law enforcement and school officials led to the suspension of a student suspected of making the threat. No bomb was found during an extensive search of the school.

The student, a juvenile, was not named and Burke gave no additional information.
