Bob Hein

Bob Hein, 78, former county commissioner, died Dec. 14 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.  

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

Family will receive guests from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  

He was born Sept. 10, 1937, to Paul and Mary Hein of rural Durham.  

He married Janis Hatcher Nov. 23, 1958, in Florence.

 Survivors include a son, Mike Hein of Hutchinson; daughters, Brenda Moss of Hillsboro and Diana Thomsen of Hartford; a sister, Pearl Brandewiede of Newton; 11 grandchildren, and seven great- grandchildren.  

He was predeceased by his wife in 2002 and a granddaughter Mary Thomsen in 2006.    

Memorials can be made to Bob Hein Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
