Board hears re-design ideas

A school re-design presentation and discussion occupied most of Thursday’s Peabody-Burns board of education meeting.

Superintendent Ron Traxson said the meeting was an opportunity to address expectations and outcomes for the re-design plan.

Board members accepted Girl Scout Madelynn Blyth’s donation of plastic containers for recycling at school events.

Middle and high school principal Scott Kimble said the school’s cell phone policy is being followed well. Students may have their phones with them during classes but may not engage in talking or texting.

A Good News club was granted permission to utilize district facilities in the same way other groups do. The evangelical club stresses character education and meets after school for 12 weeks.

Administrative employees were given a $500 raise to make them compliant with other employees’ salaries.
