Birthday celebration draws 200

Marie Clark of Burns celebrated her 90th birthday with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 3 at Burns Community Center. Birthday cake and ice cream were served to 200 guests. The honoree received birthday greetings and cards from about 200 acquaintances, family members, and friends.

Attending from out of state were Clark’s brother, Bruce Ehmke, of Bowling Green, Ohio; sisters-in-law Mary Ehmke and Bonnie Bach of Oregon, Ohio; nieces and nephews Tom and Claudia Ehmke and Nancy and Steve Rife of Bowling Green, Ohio; Jason Gedert and Frank and Mary Ellen Gedert of Pemberville, Ohio; Don and Dana Ehmke of Flagstaff, Ariz; and her granddaughter, Kaylee, and Garrett Looney of Littleton, Colo.

The guests included 28 grandchildren and spouses, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Clark’s children, Diane and Larry Nelson, Gloria and Wayne Handle, Jen Stucky, Martin and Peggy Van der Weg, and Mack and Shayla Clark, were hosts.

Following the reception, 45 guests stayed at the community center to enjoy a sandwich and salad supper, visiting, and reminiscing.
