Bernice Ethel Strotkamp, 81, of Burns, died May 10 in El Dorado following a long illness.
Graveside services were 10 a.m. Friday at Wonsevu Cemetery, Burns.
Bernice was born June 14, 1930, in Houston, Mo., to Jesse and Bertha (Baker) Lea.
She married Vernon Strotkamp on Aug. 20, 1947, in Missouri. This union was blessed with five children.
Bernice spent most of her years caring for her family. She never let anyone leave her home without a kiss, hug, and a full stomach. She was a certified nurse aide and loved caring for people. Also, she loved to write songs and poetry.
Survivors include sons Gary Strotkamp of Texas, Donald and wife Mary of Centralia, and Johney Strotkamp of Haysville; daughter-in-law Carol Stotkamp of Salem, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; son, Vernon Wayne; and daughter Linda Strotkamp Brooks.
