Berean ends Lady Warrior's season

The 2A first-round sub-state battle of the Lady Warriors ended the season for the PBHS squad. Berean Academy defeated Peabody-Burns on Feb. 28 at Berean, 41-18.

Berean opened the game with a 2-point basket. Rayna Barnes put in a 2 and the contest was tied with 5 minutes, 50 seconds on the clock. Berean added 4 but Michaela Methvin came back with a 2. Berean finished the scoring in the first quarter, adding 5. PBHS trailed, 11-4, at the end of the quarter.

Berean went on a 9-point run in the second quarter. Methvin scored the only PBHS points with 1 minute left in the half. The Lady Warriors of Peabody-Burns were down, 20-6, at the break.

PBHS added 4 points in the third quarter, 2 from Jessica Noble and a 2 from Sarah Hofkamp. Berean added 8 and had the 28-10 lead at the end of the quarter.

McKenzie Ensminger got a trey to open in the fourth quarter. Berean scored a 2. Heather Brooks got on the board with a 2 but then Berean added 1. Paige Lewis scored a trey for the last PBHS points of the 2011 basketball season. Berean defeated PBHS, 41-18, and ended the 2011 season in the first round of sub-state.
