Be mine! Goodies, singers await today's call
Staff writer
Today is a day to show love, and florists and singers are busy delivering tokens of romance all over the county.
Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day are neck-and-neck for the busiest days for florists, but flowers aren’t the only things that get delivered.
Employees of Aunt Bee’s Floral and Gifts in Marion delivered bouquets, cookies, chocolates, candy bars, stuffed animals, helium balloons, key chains, jewelry, and an assortment of other gifts along with flowers to people throughout most of the county.
Flowers also could be sent with a warm romantic song delivered by high school singers.
Marion High School Singers planned to deliver Valentine’s singing grams from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.
A choice of in-person or video performances was available.
Some singing grams will be delivered with a flower and chocolate.
Recipients include people in and outside of Marion.
Hillsboro High School’s select vocal group Spirit-N-Celebration also will perform Singing Valentines from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today as a fundraiser for the group’s annual trip to Kansas City.
Singers will perform a selection of songs and deliver cookies to some recipients.
