Peabody-Burns Athletic Director Ray Savage has announced the annual spring athletic banquet will be at 6:30 Monday in the Brown Gymnasium.

“Everyone needs to note that the time has changed from what is on the district calendar,” Savage said. “The calendar says 7 p.m., but the banquet will start at 6:30 p.m. instead.”

Teams to be honored are basketball, bowling, cheerleading, golf, wrestling, and track.

“Athletes of the year will be announced and senior plaques will be passed out,” Savage said. “And as usual we want to remind everyone that this is a banquet — please dress accordingly.”

There will be a charge of $6 for the meal, which will be prepared and served by the PBHS student group Business Professionals of America. Students who have qualified to compete at the national level are raising money to attend the competition in Anaheim, Calif. during the first week in May.

“Meals for the athletes and coaches will be paid for by the athletic department,” Savage said.

Food will be served from 6:30 to 7 p.m. with the coaches comments and presentations to follow.
