Auction donations sought

Peabody Main Street will host another benefit auction at 8 p.m. March 10 at the American Legion Hall. Board members are actively seeking additional items to sell at the event.

“We have several discount offers from local businesses and the Peabody memorabilia list is growing,” PMSA Director Shane Marler said. “There are eight pieces of clambroth glass Peabody souvenir items and the oak Regulator clock from the old limestone elementary school on Maple. Someone brought in three old PHS yearbooks from 1949, 51, and 55. There is even a matted and framed ribbon from the Peabody Anti-Horse Thief Association.

“We have a pair of Denver Bronco tickets, lunch with Marci Penner, a personal tour of Botannica with Robyn Macy, framed vintage photos of Peabody and its people, and lots more.

“The auction will be preceded by a steak feed and the always popular ‘To-Die-For’ dessert auction,” he added.

Anyone wishing to donate to the auction or submit a bid may contact Marler at the city building, (620) 983-2113, or contact Marshall Auction Service, (620) 983-2771.
