Athletic department plans volleyball tournament
The Lady Warrior volleyball team will begin the 2009 season at 9 a.m. Saturday when members square off against Hartford in the initial match of a daylong varsity tournament at Peabody-Burns High School.
“This is a round robin format tournament with each team playing all other teams only once,” PBHS Athletic Director Ray Savage said.
Other schools playing in the tournament include Hartford, Burrton, Central Burden, Burlingame, and Chase County.
Admission will be $4 for adults and $3 for students.
The schedule of matches is as follows, with the home team designation belonging to the team listed first:
- Peabody-Burns vs. Hartford, east gym, 9 a.m.
- Burrton vs. Central Burden, Brown gym, 9 a.m.
- Burlingame vs. Chase County, first available gym.
- Peabody-Burns vs. Central Burden, first available gym.
- Hartford vs. Burlingame, first available gym.
- Chase County vs. Burrton, first available gym.
- Hartford vs. Burrton, first available gym.
- Peabody-Burns vs. Burlingame, first available gym.
- Chase County vs. Central Burden, first available gym.
- Peabody-Burns vs. Chase County, first available gym.
- Burrton vs. Burlingame, first available gym.
- Central Burden vs. Hartford, first available gym.
- Peabody-Burns vs. Burrton, first available gym.
- Central Burden vs. Burlingame, first available gym.

First- and second-place plaques and first-place medals will be presented to tournament winners.
