Patrick and Jandee Moore of Marion announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashlee Kathryn Moore of San Antonio, Texas, to Adam Michael Biechlin of San Antonio, son of Michael and Cary Biechlin of Austin, Texas.

The couple will be married Oct. 1 in San Antonio.

The bride-elect was born and raised in Marion and graduated from Marion High School in 2003. She attended college at Wichita State University before transferring to the University of Kansas in Kansas City for nursing school. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2007.

After nursing school, she moved to Austin, where she worked at Seton Medical Center in the telemetry unit from June 2007 to December 2010. She moved to San Antonio in December 2010, and she has been working in the medical and cardiac critical care unit at University Hospital since January 2011.

The prospective groom was born and raised in Austin. He graduated from McCallum High School in 1993 and attended the University of Texas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Mexican-American studies and a minor in Spanish. His passion for bicycling led him to a career in the bike industry. He moved to San Antonio in June 2010, taking the position of general manager of Bike World.

Ashlee and Adam met through mutual friends in Austin. Adam proposed to Ashley in November 2010. They plan to continue living in San Antonio after the wedding.

Ashlee’s grandparents are Royal and Mary Smith of Marion, Carolyn and the late Warren Woerz of Marion, and the late Melvin and Daisy Moore of Florence. Adam’s grandparents are Allan and Lou Marr Tucker of San Antonio and Robert and the late Betty Biechlin of San Antonio.
