Arlene Minard Williams

Arlene Minard Williams, 95, passed away May 19 2013 at Peabody Care Center in Peabody, Kan.

She was born May 15, 1918 in Narka, Kan., to Raymond and Lena Dovel Smith.

She married William E. Smith Sr., Aug. 1936; they divorced in 1940. She married Arthur N. Minard June 1, 1946. Arthur passed away Aug. 5, 1987. Arlene married Paul Williams on Dec. 6, 1988. Paul passed away Sept. 22, 2009.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers: Alfred, Clyde, Delbert, Johnny, and Harold; son, William (Zeke) Smith Jr. and twin granddaughters.

She is survived by her daughter Connie Blank, Lyons, Kan.; six grandchildren, John Arthur Blank of Geneseo, Kan., Jane and Steve Montgomery, Spring Hill, Kan., Cherry, Terry, Robert, and Arlene Smith of Bricktown, N.J.; three stepchildren, Ruth Lott of Peabody, Jim Williams of Mobile, Ala., Fred Williams of San Antonio; sister in law, Evelyn Smith of Omaha, Neb.; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arlene was a life member of the American Legion, Rod and Gun Club, Peabody. She was a volunteer of Peabody Care Center for 21 years. She was a member of Peabody Christian Church.

She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, and fishing.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. May 22 at Peabody Christian with the graveside service following at the Potwin Cemetery, Potwin, Kan.

Memorials can be sent to Peabody Christian Church and the American Heart Association.
