Arene Entz

Former Peabody resident Arene Mae Entz, 91, died Monday at Presbyterian Manor in Newton.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Emmaus Mennonite Church, Whitewater, and a funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, also at the church.

Entz was born Oct. 18, 1924, to Dan and Matilda (Goering) Kaufman, near Moundridge.

She graduated from Moundridge High School in 1943 and taught school for four years. She worked 11 years as a cook at Peabody Memorial Nursing Home.

She married Arnold Entz on May 16, 1947. He preceded her in death.

She also was preceded by children Quentin Entz and Grace Unrau; and siblings Mildred Klaassen, Leona Schmidt, Leonard Kaufman, and Jerrie Kruse.

Survivors include: children Rod Entz of Pretty Prairie; Dennis Entz of Peabody; Scott Entz of Alberta, Canada; and Karen Stuber of Abilene; siblings Milo Kaufman of Potwin; Dalmer Kaufman of Durham; Wilmer Kaufman of Frankfort, South Dakota; and Reitha Klaassen and Jarold Kaufman, both of The Villages, Florida; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial funds have been established for Campus Crusade for Christ and World Impact.
