Antiques, art show is Saturday

Florence PRIDE committee will host the second annual Antiques and Art show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on Main Street.

The group hosted its first show in 2007 and it rained all day.

“The forecast is much better this year,” said PRIDE member Scott Zogelman. “We actually had quite a few people show up to shop last year and are hoping better weather will mean a larger turnout this time around.”

Zogelman said a dozen or so vendors have signed up for booth space.

“We have been trying to work with Marion and Hillsboro to provide a second chance for vendors left out of their events,” he said. “Those communities don’t allow the sale of things they consider ‘flea market’ merchandise, which includes antiques. We hope to attract that kind of vendor to Florence.”

Zogelman said the vendors who have committed will be selling antiques and collectibles, jewelry, furniture made from hedge trees, and plants.
