Ann Boese

Former retail clerk Ann L. Boese, 92, died July 1 at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.

She was born May 18, 1923, to David and Anna (Eberhardt) Helmer in Burstall, Saskatchewan, Canada

She married Ezra Boese on May 9, 1944; he preceded her in death in 1996. She had worked as a retail sales clerk at Jackson’s and Alco in Marion, and she also worked at Kingfisher Inn.

She was also preceded by a son, Bob, and brothers August, Albert, David, John, Harry, Gottfried, Will, George and Ezra Helmer.

She is survived by children Larry Boese of Valley Center, and Vickie Hajek of Lost Springs; brother Fred “Fritz” Helmer of Marion; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services were Monday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion. Interment was in Marion Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with Eastmoor United Methodist Church.
