A public meeting about zebra mussels and angling opportunities in county lakes will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 21 at Marion County Lake hall.
Sponsored by Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks, experts will be on hand to show the devastation that could be caused by zebra mussels.
The mussels have been discovered at Marion Reservoir but thus far, have not been detected at Marion County Lake.
Anglers and boaters will receive valuable information about the prevention of spreading zebra mussels from the reservoir to the county lake, and will hear about fishing opportunities.
