Angel “Ace” Torres will celebrate his 90th birthday with a social hour and dessert bar at 6:45 p.m. October 5, with dancing to follow, at the Newton VFW Post #971.

He and his children would like friends, family, and acquaintances to join the celebration.

They request no gifts, but cards and good wishes may be sent to him at 206 Pine Street, Peabody, KS 66866.

Ace is a lifelong Peabody resident. He graduated from Peabody High School in 1943 and joined the U.S. Navy. He is a veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific.

He married Theresa Segovia Lopez in 1951. Their children are Auggie and Larry Cramer, Michael Torres, and Patsy Torres-Milton, all of Topeka. Angel has one granddaughter, four grandsons, and 13 great-grandchildren.
