Andy Krause

Relatives of Andrew E. “Andy” Krause, 89, Hillsboro, who died Feb. 9, will receive friends 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Hillsboro American Legion.

Born Jan. 4, 1934, in Goessel to Ed and Tilly Krause, he was a technical sergeant stationed in Austria during the Korean war.

After his discharge in 1954, he attended welding school and became a pipeline and later bridge welder, eventually building more than 30 bridges for Marion County and working on projects across the nation.

He married Lois Jean Maltbie in 1955. The couple lived in Canton and Marion.

His wife preceded him in death. Survivors include three children, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
