Ammeter: Hair cut and a visit for writer

Contributing writer

I went to Florence Wednesday morning to get my hair cut and visited Elsie Tittle.

Ladies Aid met Wednesday afternoon at LaVonne’s. Sherry and Dorene were there.

Emily Haxton called Thursday afternoon to tell me she got to go home with little Elyse Ranee. Avery is such a proud big brother. They are all fine.

Carolyn Holm of Wichita came Thursday morning to pick up LaVonne and went to Marion for physical therapy. After that, they visited Laura Branham at Golden Living Center. We took her to Hillsboro for lunch. I also visited with Rubena Jost. Carolyn and I also went to Burns.

Later in the afternoon, Carolyn and I took the birthday cake to Legacy Park for the party Friday afternoon. Carolyn went back to Wichita and I visited Don Gillet. Brenda Riggs and Kenny Johnson visited Don while I was there.

Early Friday morning, Eric Magette and Matthew of Eudora arrived at Great-Grandma’s farm to spend the day. Uncle Stan came and they went to see the cows and rode on the tractor and lots of other things. He’s such a busy little three-year-old. Late in the afternoon, Eric, Matthew, and I headed for Eudora to spend the weekend. He was a tired little boy.

Kristin, Eric, Matthew, and I went to Kansas City to the home of Kristin’s parents for dinner. We had so much fun. Grandma Kathy and I made mud pies with Matthew. Kristin and I decorated Matthew’s birthday cake Saturday evening. It was quite a production. We made a fire engine cake.

Grandma and Grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cousins came to celebrate Matthew’s third birthday. Wow! Such a party. He was so excited. Late that afternoon, Eric brought me home and was an overnight guest. I sure enjoyed my great-grandson, Matthew.

I went to Marion Tuesday morning for physical therapy and did some shopping. I arrived home and Kevin and Emily Haxton, Avery and Elyse of Ellinwood arrived at the Ammeter farm to spend the day. Little Elyse is just a week and one day old. I held her and held her. She’s adorable. Stan joined us for lunch and supper. Avery and Great-Grandma had fun playing games and farming. Such a great day. The rain kept us indoors.

Melissa Ramsey and McKayla of Florence visited LaVonne, the Haxtons, and Stan Tuesday afternoon.

Hope you all have a great week. Congratulations to Pat and Janet Post on their 30th anniversary.
