Ammeter news

Family arrives for weekend

Contributing writer

I went to Marion Thursday morning for physical therapy, did some shopping, and visited Maude Gaines and Shelly Harper in the afternoon.

Myron and Sally Ammeter of Grand Island, Neb., arrived Friday evening at the Ammeter farm to spend the night and Saturday. Later in the evening Steve and Melody Magette came from Dodge City to spend the night. Stan Ammeter was a supper guest.

Saturday morning Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood came to spend the day. Steve and Melody left for Lenexa to visit Adam and Crystal Magette. Myron and Sally, Blaine, and Stan were dinner guests and Stan made homemade ice cream. Myron and Sally left late in the afternoon to spend the night with Sally’s mom, Opal Craney. Blaine left for home early evening.

Ty Frederickson and Giles visited LaVonne and company Friday evening and ate supper with us.

We had church at Summit Sunday. Pastor Ragland had a better than ever sermon.

I visited on the phone with Nancy and LeRoy Church. LeRoy is getting along OK.

Monday afternoon LaVonne and Joyce Kyle met Mary Glen in Burns and we went to Marion to the lake hall for election school and to get the ballots.

Joyce picked me up at 6 a.m. Tuesday and we went to Burns Community Center to open the polls for the primary election. Mary Glen and Pat Nystrom also worked on the board. We had a good turn out to vote. Joyce and I took the ballots to Marion to the courthouse after the polls closed.
