Airstream renovation moves to Lincolnville

A decade-old Marion enterprise has moved out of its building in the industrial park and has taken new life in Lincolnville.
Reis Restoration in Lincolnville is operated by Nic Reis.
For five years, Reis worked for his uncle, Mark Evans, who owned and operated The Airstream Guy in Marion.
Going to work for his uncle was a total change for Reis, who moved to Marion from Las Vegas to work there.
“I was a senior in high school when he first started doing Airstreams,” Reis said. “He told me to come out in Kansas and see it, and I stayed and worked.”
The last time he visited Las Vegas, he was glad to get out of there.
“It’s way too crazy out there,” he said.
Reis opened the doors of his new business last week. He employs one worker full-time and has two part-time employees.
“We will work on one Airstream at a time,” Reis said.
Reis will also service Spartan, Silver Streak, Avion, and Streamline trailers.
The company offers sub floor repair, steel frame repair, door and window repair, new aluminum panel replacement, aluminum polishing, wash, wax and repainting, and installation of new plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
The Airstream Guy’s final day operating in the Marion building was closed May 18. Evans will continue buying and selling Airstream campers from a different location. His campers will be sold overseas.
He also will work with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law on Marion County RV and Boat Storage, a joint venture on 2.4 acres across the street north of the old Airstream Guy building.
The Marion building that used to house the Airstream Guy was purchased by Norfolk, Nebraska, resident Trent C. Koehler. Koehler said he’s going to use it as a shop for his truck. He said he saw the building online and decided to buy it.
