Wellness and tai chi classes offered
The Senior Citizens of Marion County Board of Directors met Feb. 17.
Marion County Aging coordinator Gayla Ratzlaff distributed a handout with information about commodities, wellness class, Tai Chi, Medical Home and Accountable Care Organizations, and the future of senior centers in Marion County. The wellness class started Feb. 29 at Parkside Congregate in Hillsboro 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays for six weeks. Tai chi class began 4 to 5 p.m. Monday. Classes continue on Mondays and Wednesdays for six weeks at the Marion Senior Center.
Senior Center Committee Chairman Joyce Kyle gave an update on senior center activities. Hillsboro has averaged over 45 congregate meals.
