African missionary to speak in Hillsboro Sunday

Mission Sunday is Sunday at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro. Steve Wiebe-Johnson, Elkhart, Ind., Africa Director for Mennonite Mission Network will lead the Adult Sunday School hour and preach during worship.

Wiebe-Johnson has worked in 11 countries in Africa. He will be joined by Ron Molo and his family, currently of North Newton but formerly of Zimbabwe. The Molo family will provide congregational singing and music after a meal.

Wiebe-Johnson, his wife Dorothy, and their sons, Julian and Michael, have been involved with mission work in West Africa since 1988. They served with the Mennonite Board of Missions, a predecessor agency of Mennonite Mission Network in Liberia, Ghana, Benin, and the Ivory Coast. Their work involved leadership training and congregational-based community development.
