The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Birch Street near Third Street, Hillsboro:

William A. Olsen, 36, 315 N. Birch, Hillsboro, was parking in a space in front of a house on Birch Street near Third Street, Hillsboro, in a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix at 2:20 a.m. Sept. 14, when the driver was distracted and the right rear of his vehicle struck a 1963 Chevrolet pickup that was parked on the street. The owner of the pickup was Tommy L. Richards, 317 N. Birch, Hillsboro. Debbie L. Olsen, 36, of the same address, was a passenger in the car. Hillsboro Police Officer David Funk reported there were no injuries and less than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-56 near milemarker 300:

Arthur D. Hemry, 46, Little River, was eastbound on U.S.-56 near milemarker 301 in a 1997 Pontiac passenger car at 7 a.m. Sept. 17, when a deer came from a north ditch and was struck. The driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jim Philpott.

190th Road near Kanza Road:

Charles E. Rhea, 55, Galva, was westbound on 190th Road one-half mile west of Kanza Road in a 1992 GMC truck at 2:43 p.m. Sept. 22, when the driver fell asleep, crossed the center line, entered a south ditch and struck a telephone pole, culvert, and tree before coming to rest. The driver was transported to Hillsboro Community Medical Center. Kansas Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
