These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Elm at 9th Sts., Peabody

Characterized by deputy Bruce Burke as being emotionally disturbed, 17-year-old Devin M. Turner of Peabody drove a northbound 2013 Ford Fusion at a high rate of speed through a stop sign at 9th St., into a ditch, and up an embankment, rolling the car completely over, back onto its wheels, at 1:19 p.m. July 14.

The car, owned by Gary M. Turner of the same address, was listed as destroyed with damage to everything except its rear third.

An accident report, one of four released Friday by the sheriff’s department, did not list any tickets as being issued.

240th Rd. west of Falcon Rd.

A 2008 Chevrolet Silverado tank truck was engulfed in flames at 1:16 p.m. July 18 after owner Edward M. Fickes, 47, moved it south of his home.

Cause of the fire, which was extinguished by Hillsboro firefighters, was not listed.

US-50 east of 110th Rd.

Emma E. Walker, 20, Baxter Springs, hit a coyote pup with a 2009 Toyota Corolla at 10:04 p.m. July 18.

The car, owned by Jason Walker of the same address, sustained damage characterized as minor to its front and undercarriage.

150th Rd. east of Goldenrod Rd.

Richard B. Dunagan, 57, rural Hillsboro, hit a loose cow or bull owned by Rodney D. Boese, rural Canton, with Dunagan’s 2005 GMC Yukon at 4:30 a.m. July 20.

Dunagan’s SUV remained drivable. He reportedly attempted to get the animal back into a pasture before calling dispatchers six hours later.

HILLSBORO

A St. west of Wilson St.

Ezra J. Spiller, 18, Hillsboro, backed a 2010 Ford F-150 out of his driveway at 10:45 p.m. July 20 and into the side of a 2019 Kia Sportage legally parked across the street.

He told police he did not see the Kia because a topper on the pickup blocked his view.

The Kia, owned by Sarah E. Hill, Hillsboro, remained drivable with damage to its driver’s side. The Ford, owned by Spiller’s grandfather, David L. Basgail of Junction City, sustained damage characterized as minor to its rear.

Alyssa B. York, 19, of Spiller’s address was a passenger in the pickup at the time.

Officer David Funk’s report blamed the wreck on inattentive driving. No tickets were listed as being issued.

Ash St. at 3rd St.

Turning left after stopping at 9:50 p.m. July 22 to go north on Ash St., Terry L. Hill, 67, rural Hillsboro, didn’t see a southbound 2007 Hyundai Elantra and hit the side of the Hyundai with his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado.

The Hyundai, driven by Ira Y. Davies, 18, and owned by Matthew C. Davies of the same Hillsboro address, remained drivable with damage to its driver’s side. Hill’s pickup sustained damage characterized as minor to its right front.

Ethan E. Davies, 20, of the same address was a passenger in the Hyundai.

Officer Thomas Godfrey’s report blamed the accident on Hill, who said Davies might not have been using the Hyundai’s headlights. No tickets were listed as being issued.

Memorial Dr. west of D St.

At the conclusion of an event in Memorial Park at 9:40 p.m. Friday, retired police officer Duane A. McCarty, 68, Marion, backed his 2009 Chevrolet Impala into the side of a 2018 Buick Envision that had been stopped partially in the roadway to collect gear used at the event.

The left rear of McCarty’s Chevy hit the left side of the Buick, owned by Susan G. Wadkins, Goessel. Damage to both vehicles was characterized as minor.

Officer David Funk’s report blames the wreck on McCarty being distracted by patrons leaving the event. No tickets were listed as being issued.

Indigo Rd. north of Willow Glen Ln.

Cody S. Eye, 22, rural Newton, hit and killed a deer at 1:40 a.m. Saturday with his 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The Jeep remained drivable with damage to its left front and hood.
