These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

US-77 north of 30th Rd.

Brandon S. Denton, 24, Wann, Oklahoma, lost control of his 2017 Dodge Caravan on icy roads at 9:48 p.m. Jan. 27 and sideswiped a 2015 Buick Encore he was attempting to pass, according to a report released Thursday.

The Encore, owned and driven by Sue A. Pressnall, 63, Winfield, sustained damage characterized as minor to its entire left side. Denton’s Caravan sustained similar damage to its entire right side. It reportedly came to rest off the left side of the road.

Listed as passengers in the Caravan were Lyric S.J. Boman, 22, and infant River S.L. Denton of the driver’s address; Roxana L. Boman, 67, of a different address in Wann, Oklahoma; and Ava L. Boman, 4, of Copan, Oklahoma.

Deputy Jesse Raney’s report blamed the accident on freezing rain, icy roads, and driving too fast for conditions. No tickets were issued.

Remington Rd. south of 250th Rd.

Susan K. Regalado, 65, Lincolnville, hit a deer at 1:10 p.m. Feb. 2 with her 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, which sustained disabling damage to its front and hood and was towed.

Casey G. Regalado, 30, of the same address was a passenger in the Chevy.

US-77 north of 110th Rd.

Cameron D. Reimer, 64, Hillsboro, hit a deer at 10:26 p.m. Feb. 4 with his 2016 Ford Fusion, which sustained damage described as minor to its front and hood.

Timber Rd. north of 60th Rd.

Faye L. Snyder, 18, Marion, was taken by ambulance to St. Luke Hospital, Marion, after she drove her 2007 Chevrolet Impala into the right ditch of a muddy roadway at 6:05 p.m. Feb. 5, striking an embankment and traveling 456 feet into a field.

The Chevy sustained disabling damage to its front, left, right, windshield, and undercarriage and was towed.

Deputy Clayton Philpott’s report blamed the accident on driving too fast for conditions. No tickets were issued.

US-77 north of 120th Rd.

David C. Manion, 30, Fort Riley, hit a deer at 6:25 p.m. Feb. 5 with his 2005 Pontiac Grand Am, which sustained disabling damage to its right front and hood and was towed.

HILLSBORO

B St. east of Jefferson St.

Inattentive driving and windows obscured by frost or fog were blamed for an accident at 8:20 p.m. Feb. 5 in which Taylor A. Nye, 18, Valley Center, sideswiped a legally parked pickup.

The pickup, a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 owned by Ryan J. Lee of Hillsboro, remained drivable with damage to its left rear and undercarriage. The collision propelled the truck into Lee’s front yard in the 200 block of S. Jefferson St.

Nye’s 2014 Chevrolet Impala, owned by Kent W. Nye of the same Valley Center address, sustained disabling damage to its right front and undercarriage. Its side airbags deployed, and the car was towed.

A woman who was in a building across the street witnessed portions of the crash, according to officer David Funk’s report.

Nye told Funk that his car’s windows and windshield had frosted or fogged over and that he was attempting to drive while seeing through a small clear patch in the windshield and an open driver’s side window.

He was ticketed on charges of inattentive driving and driving with obscured windows.
