REPORTED

These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

290th Rd. east of Old Mill Rd.

Gerald E. Taylor, 58, Durham, hit a deer at 7:15 p.m. Oct. 14 with his 2009 Chevrolet Traverse, which sustained front-end damage but remained functional.

US-56 north of 250th Rd.

Kristin E. Smith, 45, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, hit a deer at 10:20 p.m. Oct. 14 with her 2021 Subaru Forester, which sustained disabling damage to front, right, hood, and undercarriage and was towed.

Steven C. Smith, 49, of the same address, was a passenger.

Sunflower Rd. north of 150th Rd.

Riley D. Wagner, 26, Marion, hit a deer at 7:17 p.m. Oct. 15 with his 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, which sustained front-end damage but remained functional.

120th Rd. east of K-15

Jack A. Martin, 78, rural Goessel, damaged the undercarriage of his 2013 Buick Enclave at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 19 when he ran over trash bags that had been left along with tree limbs in the roadway.

The car remained functional.

HILLSBORO

Grand Ave. east of Ash St.

John M. Vinduska, 61, rural Lincolnville, backed his 2010 Chevrolet Impala out of a parking space in front of Dale’s Supermarket and into the side of a passing 2017 Jeep Ranger that owner Raye E. Dirks, 80, Hillsboro, had just turned onto the street.

Assistant chief Randy Brazil’s report blamed the accident on improper backing by Vinduska, but no tickets were issued.

Damage to both vehicles was estimated to be minor. Jerry Vinduska, 62, of the same Lincolnville address was a passenger in the Impala.

Nighthawk Rd. south of 130th Rd.

In an accident investigated by Hillsboro police because it involved a sheriff’s deputy, Joel J. Womochil, 37, hit a deer with his sheriff’s patrol vehicle, a 2020 Dodge Durango, at 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

Damage to the vehicle was characterized as minor.
