These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

360th Rd. east of Pawnee Rd.

James R. Spohn, 20, rural Tampa, couldn’t stop his 2004 Ford F150 in time to avoid rear-ending a 2006 Nissan Sentra driven by Haley M. Gladden, 19, Herington, at 1:29 p.m. June 29.

Gladden had slowed her car, owned by passenger Jacob J.A. Bruce, 19, Junction City, because a third car in front of the Nissan had been turning into a cemetery.

Although deputy Kaylan Miles’s report blamed the accident on inattentive driving by Spohn, no tickets were issued.

Excited to see a green light after waiting in line at a traffic signal at a construction zone, a Wichita driver took his foot off his sport-utility vehicle’s brake and plowed the SUV into the rear another SUV waiting in front of his at 6:27 p.m. July 5.

Deputy Aaron Christner’s report blamed the accident on inattentive driving by Alexander J. Steinert, 20, Wichita, but no tickets were issued.

The 2006 Chevrolet Equinox that Steinert was driving hit a later model 2016 Equinox driven by Syndi J. Koppes, 18, El Dorado.

The older Equinox is owned by Heather D. Steinert of the same Wichita address. The newer one is owned by Sara J. Koppes, Clay Center.

James H. Morrow III, 19, Salina, was a passenger in Koppes’s Equinox.

A semitrailer truck entering the Florence roundabout clipped the rear passenger side of a pickup already inside the traffic circle at 2 p.m. July 11, then drove off and was not stopped until several hours later in Franklin County.

Larry E. Crouse, 63, El Dorado, was able to see the license number of the semi’s trailer after his 2013 GMC Sierra was struck by the front driver’s side of the semi’s tractor.

Sheriff’s deputies alerted other law enforcement agencies, and the semi was located several hours later, nearly 100 miles away. The driver of the 2015 Kenworth was identified as Senad Modronja, 48, Waukee, Iowa.

Although deputy Travis Wilson’s report said Modronja drove inattentively and failed to yield before leaving the scene of the accident, no tickets were issued.

Two different motorists were unable to avoid concrete road debris between 12:10 and 12:15 p.m. July 12 at the same location because of oncoming traffic and steep shoulders.

Both vehicles sustained damage to their undercarriage but were able to be driven away.

Amy L. Gayle, 15, Florence, damaged the undercarriage of a 2001 Honda Accord owned by Stephen Gayle of the same address.

William B. Breckenridge, 54, Topeka, damaged the undercarriage of a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country owned by his employer, Hays Fire and Rescue.
