These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
US-77 north of K-256
Brittany L. Dussalut, 22, Basehor, dozed off, let her 2001 Pontiac Prix drift onto US-77’s shoulder, overcorrected, and ended up in the opposite ditch at 12:20 a.m. June 27.
Her car sustained damage to both bumpers and had to be towed.
US-77 south of 140th Rd.
Russell W. Autrey, 55, Wichita, dozed off at 4:16 p.m. June 27 and drove a 2015 Ford Transit Connect owned by 3AV audio-video of Newton into a stopped highway construction pilot car, which then hit worker William J. Carr, 24, rural Emporia, who was standing nearby.
Andrew Lillard, 31, Derby, was a passenger in the Transit Connect, which overturned after the collision.
The pilot car, a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 owned by Apac Shears contractors from Hutchinson, was driven by Doris Laws, 55, Emporia.
Deputy Aaron Christner’s report said Carr might have been injured but includes no indication of anyone involved being taken to a hospital.
No tickets were issued.
120th Rd. east of Meridian Rd.
Drowsy while returning from a medical appointment, Mary L. Rosfeld, 73, rural Peabody, crossed into oncoming traffic and sideswiped an approaching combine at 9:35 a.m. June 28.
Her 2012 Ford Explorer sustained damage along its entire left side.
The combine, a John Deere S680 owned and operated by Darcy L. Nickel, 45, rural Goessel, was damaged in only one location.
Sunflower Rd. north of 180th Rd.
Corrina M. Crabb, 18, Marion, hit a deer with her 2014 Ford Focus at 10:10 p.m. June 30.
Denise Crabb, 41, of the same address was a passenger.
Buller St. south of Marion St., Goessel
Reportedly unable to see because of dust kicked up by a vehicle in front of him, Tristan A. Beckett, 21, McPherson, clipped a legally parked 2003 GMC Sierra owned by Christopher Weeks of Goessel at 10:25 p.m. June 30.
Beckett was driving a 2015 Ford Focus owned by Hailey N. Beckett of the same address.
Deputy Larry Starkey’s report attributed the accident not only to visibility but also to inattentiveness. However, no tickets were issued.
60th Rd. west of Quail Creek Rd.
Devon McGonigal, age not reported, of Peabody hit a deer with his 2007 Chrysler Sebring at 6 a.m. July 1.
The car sustained extensive front-end damage and had to be towed.
Sunflower and 50th Rds.
Kristina K. Steiner, 39, Marion, failed to yield, according to deputy Aaron Christner’s report, resulting in her southbound 1989 Jeep Cherokee being struck at 8:24 p.m. July 1 by a westbound Preheim Ag semi driven by Bradley S. Shaw, 36, Peabody.
The Jeep rolled and sustained extensive damage but could be driven away.
No tickets were issued.
290th Rd. west of Vista Rd.
Shannon F. Haaga, 23, Lincolnville, hit a deer with her 2010 GMC Terrain at 6:30 a.m. July 2.
US-50 west of 80th Rd.
Jon R. Pfau, 51, Ozawkie, hit a deer at 10 a.m. July 2 with a 2019 Ford Transit Connect owned by the Oskaloosa school district.
