These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
US-50 at Yarrow Rd.
Ricky Richter, 58, Savannah, Georgia, was passing a 2000 Jeep driven by Elesies Mendoza, 18, Wichita, when Mendoza pulled toward the right and then turned left into the right side of the 2001 Peterbuilt semi Richter was driving at 1:37 p.m. Feb. 15. Mendoza was taken to St. Luke Hospital.
190th Rd. east of Nighthawk Rd.
Matthew A. Richet, 27, Hillsboro, looked away from the road to change a song on his phone, then overcorrected his 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt, lost control of the vehicle, and drove into a ditch at 4:59 p.m. Feb. 15.
US-50 at US-77
Jordan L. Klock, 17, Junction City, slid on ice and hit the curb on a roundabout with her 2002 Hyundai XG at 11 a.m. Feb. 15. Neither Klock nor her passenger, Clorressa Roundtree, 45, Wichita, reported injury.
Indigo Rd. south of 120th Rd.
Rose M. Duncan, 70, Wichita, hit a dog with her 2014 Toyota Prius at 12:10 p.m. Feb 16.
US-256 west of US-77
James R. Spohn, 20, Marion, slid on ice with his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado at 5:30 a.m. Feb. 18 and the Silverado slid into a ditch and overturned, coming to rest on its right side. The Silverado was towed.
120th Rd. west of Alamo Rd.
Jessica D. John, 27, Goessel, slid on ice with her 2001 Toyota Rav4 at 1:25 a.m. Feb. 17. The Toyota left the road and overturned, coming to rest in a creek below a bridge. The Toyota was towed.
120th Rd. west of Eagle Rd.
Tanner J. Brandt, 20, Goessel, slid on ice with his 2001 Mercury Mountaineer at 9:14 a.m. Feb. 17. The Mercury slid into a ditch and overturned. Neither Brandt nor his passenger, Ellian Weisbeck, 19, Hillsboro, reported injury.
190th Rd. at Quail Creek Rd.
Karen D. Bake, 50, Emporia, slid on ice in her 2006 Kia Sorento at 9:26 a.m. Feb. 17 and lost control of the Kia, which went into the ditch and overturned. Baker was taken to Newton Medical Center. Her passenger, Riley White, 12, Leavenworth, did not report injury.
80th Rd. west of US-77
Hogan L. Lovelady, 24, Florence, slid on ice with his 2002 Ford Explorer at 12:15 p.m. Feb. 17. The Ford went into a ditch and turned onto its side before coming to rest on its wheels. Neither Lovelady nor his passengers, Rebecka Reust, Caybryn Lovelady, or Payson Lovelady, reported injury. The Ford was towed.
Indigo Rd. south of 150th Rd.
Brandon B. Staats, 21, Hillsboro, was driving his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado on Indigo Rd. when he hit his brakes, lost control of the Silverado on ice, slid sideways and swerved into the rear of a 2013 GMC Terrain driven by Lacie N. Hill, 34, Hillsboro, at 8:20 a.m. Feb. 17. Neither Staats, Hill, nor passengers Levi, 9, and Aiden Hill, 6, reported injury.
60th Rd. east of Old Mill Rd.
Edward M. Fickes, 40, Hillsboro, lost control of a 2005 International owned by Ag Service, Hillsboro, when he slid on ice while trying to turn into a driveway at 9:22 a.m. Feb. 20. The International slid into a ditch. Neither Fickes nor his passenger, Andrew V. Hein, 34, reported injury.
