These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

HIGHWAY PATROL

K-15 south of 140th Rd.

Martha Jean Biggs, 73, Moundridge, was dead at the scene of a one-car accident discovered at 5:35 p.m. July 18.

Her 2008 Chevrolet HHR drifted across the road and into a ditch, striking a culvert and overturning. An autopsy will determined whether she died of injuries or a medical condition that led to the wreck.

SHERIFF

80th and Chisholm Trail Rd.

Two out-of-state drivers were injured when their cars collided at an uncontrolled intersection at 4:10 p.m. July 11.

Although no citations were issued, deputy David Harper-Head’s report said that Leah Unruh, 25, of Goshen, Indiana, had failed to yield in her northbound 2011 Subaru Impreza.

A westbound 2018 Chevrolet Cruze rented from Hertz and driven by Lorin Neufeld, 76, of Clovis, California, struck Unruh’s Subaru in its side and caused it to roll.

Unruh was initially trapped in her overturned car, and both she and Neufeld were reported injured. However, both declined to be taken by ambulance to a hospital although both Peabody and Hillsboro ambulances were dispatched to the wreck.

Goessel firefighters and first responders and Peabody rescue squad also were sent to the accident. Both cars had to be towed.

290th Rd. west of Vista Rd.

David August, 48, of Lincolnville hit a deer with his 2011 Ford F-150 pickup at 10:25 p.m. July 13. Neither he nor his passengers, Michele August, 41, and Keegan August, 13, of the same address, were injured.

US-56/77 north of US-56/77/K-150 roundabout

Felicia Herring, 31, of Junction City clipped the right rear of a Herington woman’s car while attempting to make a U-turn at 8:25 a.m. July 14.

Both Herring’s 2017 Nissan Versa, which she had rented from Hertz, and the other vehicle, a 2014 Toyota Corolla owned and driven by Carla Dose, 64, of Herington, were southbound.

Passengers in Herring’s rental car were listed as Lynn Cousins, 30, and Serenity Cousins, 7, both of Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

No injuries were reported. The rental car had to be towed.

US-56/77 north of 320th Rd.

Brett Jacobs, 21, Oklahoma City, hit and killed a deer with his 2017 Ford Fiesta at 9:19 p.m. July 15. Its airbags deployed, the car had to be towed.

Bluestem Rd. south of 220th Rd.

A 2012 Jeep Patriot owned and driven by Candice Vinduska, 60, of rural Marion hit and killed a cow that had escaped from Martin Kroupa’s rural Lincolnville pasture at 10:42 p.m. July 14.

US-50 east of US-50/77 roundabout

A Midwest Express semi-trailer truck driven by Paul Miller, 46, of Eudora jackknifed into a ditch after Miller lost control on wet pavement at 9:30 a.m. July 16.

Deputy Travis Wilson’s report said Miller had been driving too fast for conditions, but no citations were issued.

The semi had to be towed, and hazardous materials crews had to clean up an estimated 120 gallons of diesel fuel that leaked from the semi.

US-56 east of Pawnee Rd.

Dan Selznick, 63, of Lincolnville hit a deer with his 2005 Chevrolet C1500 pickup at 6:30 a.m. July 16.

Nighthawk Rd. north of 300th Rd.

A 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup owned and driven by Daniel Spohn, 45, of rural Tampa hit a cow or bull that was in the roadway at 11:15 p.m. July 17.
