These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

US-77 south of Dickinson County line

Julian Howard, 23, Wichita, was jailed on suspicion of drug, alcohol, and weapons charges after he swerved left, reportedly to miss an animal, at 10:45 p.m. May 26 and drove his 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis into a post and a culvert before it came to rest in a ditch 50 feet east of the road.

Howard’s blood-alcohol level was listed as 0.107, nearly 34 percent above the legal limit. Deputy Derek Harper-Head’s report said Howard also had ingested illegal drugs.

Howard was booked into Marion County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, possessing a firearm while under the influence, and possessing marijuana, drugs, and drug paraphernalia. He was released 1½ hours later on $9,500 surety bond.

K-150 near Yarrow Rd.

A deer ran into the side of a 2011 Toyota Camry owned and driven by Keith Schubert, 71, Aurora, Colorado, at 10 p.m. May 25. Passengers in the car were Jessica Gilbert, 68, and Patricia Wick, 80, of separate Ramona addresses.

K-150 east of Chase County line

Kensuke Hakado, 42, Salina, hit a deer with his 2014 Nissan Frontier at 12:15 a.m. May 28. Passengers in the crew-cab truck were Jose Moreno, 17, Geneseo; Valerie Goertz, 17, Hutchinson; and Rachel Holder, 21, of a different Salina address.
