These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Pawnee Rd. and US-50

Alexandria Richter, 35, Peabody, lost control of her 2014 Chevy Camaro while attempting to turn off icy US-50 at 5:20 a.m. Feb. 21.

Her car went into a ditch and struck a culvert marker but did not have to be towed.

190th Rd. east of Kanza Rd.

Lucy Schwart, 76, rural Marion, rolled her 2017 Jeep Cherokee into a utility pole after losing control on icy pavement at 11 a.m. Feb. 21.

Deputy Travis Wilson’s report states that she was traveling too fast for conditions, but no ticket was issued.

Schwart did not report being injured, but her vehicle sustained extensive damage and had to be towed.

Main St. east of Wheat St., Goessel

Kelly Jones, 36, Goessel, was taken to Newton Medical Center after her 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee slid on icy pavement at 4:40 a.m. Feb. 23, went into a ditch, struck a culvert, and damaged its undercarriage. Her vehicle had to be towed.

Pawnee Rd. south of 130th Rd.

Samuel Salas, 34, Newton, hit a bridge railing at 10:25 p.m. Feb. 23 after losing control of 2015 Freightliner truck owned by Westar Energy of Topeka.

No injuries were reported, and the truck sustained relatively minor damage.

120th Rd. east of K-15

In yet another accident related to icy roads, Steven Cronick, 20, Parsons, spun a 2016 semi owned by Fanestil Meats of Emporia into a ditch, striking a mailbox owned by Leroy Goerzen of rural Goessel at 12:28 p.m. Feb. 23.

Remington Rd. north of US-50

Garrett Hoffner, 17, Marion, hit a deer with a 1998 Chevy C1500 pickup owned by Roger Hoffner of the same address at 9:49 p.m. Feb. 24.

210th and Alamo Rds.

Blinded by late-afternoon sun, Harlin Koehn, 67, rural Lehigh, drove his southbound 1987 Ford Ranger through a yield sign and into the path of an eastbound 2008 Honda Accord owned and driven by Mark Koehn, 34, of a different rural Lehigh address.

No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were driven away.

hillsboro

300 block of N. Ash St.

A 1999 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Bobby Patterson of Hillsboro and driven by Patric Patterson, 19, Hillsboro, backed into a parked 1992 Lincoln Town Car owned by Ricardo Benavides in the parking lot at Casey’s General Store at 10:25 p.m. Feb. 25. The Lincoln’s left front headlight housing was damaged.

700 Western Heights Circle

A 2007 Ford F150 driven by Chanse Diringer, 20, of Hillsboro drove over an ordering station and several bushes at Sonic Drive-In, crossed US-56, and came to rest in a field at 11:35 a.m. Feb. 25. Hillsboro police reported Diringer suffered a seizure, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

300 block of N. Main St.

A 2012 Chevrolet Cruz owned by Jason Myers, Hillsboro, and parked in front of his residence was sideswiped by an vehicle, reported by Myers as possibly a red Ford Focus or Taurus, at 7:45 p.m. Feb. 17. The vehicle did not stop. Damage was reported to the driver’s side front and rear doors.
