Accident reports released this past week by law enforcement agencies:


60th Rd. west of Quail Creek Rd.

Taytum Miller, 19, Hillsboro, was driving a 2000 Ford Focus owned by Tiffany Miller of Hillsboro when she swerved to avoid two deer in the road at 8:04 p.m. Sept. 2. The Ford skidded sideways, struck a guard rail, and overturned in a ditch. Miller was not injured. Officer Aaron Slater reported the vehicle was destroyed.

US-50 west of Wagonwheel Rd.

Lance Lovell Sr., 48, Junction City, struck a deer with his 2011 Dodge Durango at 7:20 a.m. Sept. 1. The deer was killed, and a deer tag was issued.

US-77 at 5th St., Florence

Sherri Wilson, 69, Florence, was driving a 2015 Ford Focus when she pulled out from a stop sign at 5th St. and US-77 and was struck on the driver-side door by a 2016 Ford F550 driven by Shane Allen, 36, Wichita, and owned by U-Haul of Southern Kansas at 10:55 a.m. Sept. 1. Wilson was taken by Marion ambulance to St. Luke Hospital. Undersheriff David Huntley issued a citation to Wilson for failure to yield right of way. Both vehicles were towed.

US-56 west of Ridge Rd.

A 2001 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Chester Kern, 70, Geneseo, went left of center and struck a 2013 Toyota Yaris driven by Karen Baysinger-Guy, 55, Emporia, at 8:15 a.m. Aug. 27. Neither driver was injured. Deputy Mike Ottensmeier reported that Kern stated he may have fallen asleep. Kern was issued a citation for crossing the center line. Both vehicles were towed.

30th Rd. west of Nighthawk Rd.

Bruce Burke, 57, Peabody, struck a deer with a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria owned by the city of Peabody, at 1 a.m. Sept. 4.

Crane and Berry Sts., Lost Springs

James Woods Jr., 16, Lost Springs, was driving a 1997 Toyota Camry north on Berry St. when he attempted to turn east onto Crane St. and struck a 2003 Dodge Dakota driven by Dona Moeder, 55, Hope, at 4 p.m. Sept. 6. Neither driver was injured, and the vehicles had minor damage. Deputy Larry Starkey issued a citation to Woods for driving faster than was reasonable for conditions.
