Accidents reported

According to accident reports released Friday:

SHERIFF

US-56/77 north of 150th Rd.

Maria Sanchez, 42, San Antonio, hit and killed a deer with her 2004 Chevrolet Suburban at 8:05 a.m. Nov. 28.

She was able to drive from the scene.

Sunflower Rd. north of 160th

Calvin Fletcher, 69, Haysville, hit a deer with his 2007 Chevy Silverado at 7:33 a.m. Nov. 27.

He was able to drive from the scene.

K-15 north of 210th Rd.

Darrell Dome, 55, Abilene, hit a deer with his 2012 Buick LaCrosse at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 22.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

US-56/77 north of 280th Rd.

Brian Klein, 47, Lincolnville, hit a deer with his 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup at 5:39 a.m. Nov. 26.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

John Winslow, 47, Hesston, hit and killed a deer with his 2005 GMC Sierra pickup at 7:15 a.m. Nov. 28.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

US-77 north of 110th Rd.

Joshua Belfort, 26, Manhattan, hit a deer with his 1994 Chevrolet C1500 pickup at 9:40 p.m. Nov. 28.

He was able to drive from the scene.

US-77 north of 150th Rd.

Janet Nesser, 61, Florence, hit a deer with her 2009 Toyota Corolla at 11:35 p.m. Nov. 29.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

US-50 east of Mustang Rd.

Mervin Walker, 44, Greentop, Missouri, was driving a 2013 Toyota Sienna eastbound at 9 a.m. Nov. 30 when a wind duct blew off an approaching semi, striking the road and then the vehicle. Undersheriff David Huntley reported the driver of the semi stopped briefly, then left without talking to Walker. There were no injuries to Walker or four passengers, and Walker was able to drive from the scene.

180th Rd. west of Chisholm Trail Rd.

Linda Peters, 61, Hillsboro, hit a deer with her 2014 Buick Enclave at 6 a.m. Dec. 2.

She was able to drive from the scene.

30th Rd. east of Old Mill Rd.

Krystal Mendez-Campos, 30, Burns, hit a coyote with her 2015 Ford Escape at 6:47 a.m. Dec. 1.

She was able to drive from the scene.

Intersection of 7th and Marion Sts.

A eastbound 2003 Ford F-150 driven by Tiffany Bialek, 28, Florence, struck the rear driver’s side of a northbound 2000 Chevy 1500 driven by Phillip Baldwin, 64, Florence, in the intersection at 7th and Marion Sts. Sheriff’s officer Derek Fetrow reported no injuries, and the vehicles were driven from the scene.

330th Rd. west of Diamond Rd.

Mitchell Unruh, 35, Durham, was driving west on 330th Rd. at 10:15 p.m. Dec. 1 when he reportedly fell asleep. His 2008 Dodge Caravan crossed the road into the south ditch, struck an embankment and then a utility pole, flipped end to end, rolled one time, and landed right-side up. Sheriff’s officer Duane McCarty reported Unruh was wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured. The vehicle was destroyed and towed from the scene.

Cedar and First Sts.

When leaving to take a passenger to a physical therapy appointment, Renee Gilkey, 30, Hillsboro, struck a legally parked 2001 Hyundai sedan owned by Brandon Voth, Hillsboro, at 12:35 p.m. Dec. 3. She was backing her 2013 Ford pickup out of a driveway at 106 N. Cedar St. Police said both cars were damaged. The passenger in Gilkey’s car, who recently had back surgery, said the impact caused increased pain in his back. The passenger planned to have his doctor evaluate the injury.

Hillsboro High School parking lot

Westin Etheridge, 15, Lehigh, was backing a 2006 Ford pickup, owned by Gary Etheridge, out of a parking spot in the high school parking lot when he allegedly struck a 2010 Dodge pickup owned by Darrel Knoll, Hillsboro. Both vehicles had minor damage. No injuries were reported.
