Accidents reported

According to accident reports released Friday:

SHERIFF

190th Rd. west of Holly Rd.

Ashley Spencer, 24, Hillsboro, drove her rented car onto a shoulder, overcorrected, and crashed it into a tree in a dry creek bed at 2:53 a.m. Oct. 19.

The car, owned by Dollar Rent-A-Car, was towed. Neither Spencer nor her passenger, William Hickman, 30, of a different Hillsboro address, was reported injured.

US-77 north of 50th Rd.

To avoid hitting a deer, Shanna Witt, 19, Junction City, swerved her family’s 2001 Oldsmobile Alero into a ditch at 1:20 a.m. Oct. 23.

No injuries were reported, but the car sustained damage to its undercarriage and was towed.

K-15 north of 110th Rd.

Richard Chumbley Jr., 60, Marion, struck and killed a deer while driving with his 59-year-old wife, Barbara, in her 2010 Chrysler Town and Country at 7:01 a.m. Oct. 27.

The couple reported no injuries and were able to drive from the scene.

Nighthawk Rd. south of 180th Rd.

Louise Whiteman, 61, of rural Marion, hit a deer with her 2007 Toyota Sienna at 8:35 p.m. Oct. 27.

She was able to drive from the scene.

US-50 south of 270th Rd.

Malainey Woods, 20, of Warr Acres, Oklahoma, was taken by ambulance to St. Luke Hospital after she fell asleep under the influence of medication, lost control of her 2008 Dodge Caliber, and drove it into a guard rail at 12:55 a.m. Oct. 28, deputy Mike Ottensmeier reported.

Ottensmeier’s report states that a drug test was administered and results are pending. No citations have been issued.

Pawnee Rd. north of 210th Rd.

No injuries were reported in a three-vehicle accident at 5 p.m. Wednesday in which Gary Lewis, 61, of rural Marion, attempted to pass both a second vehicle and a tractor in front of it that was pulling a mower.

Lewis’s 2013 Fiat 500 subcompact and the 1968 John Deere 4020 tractor, owned by LaTrisha Bradley of Independence, collided when tractor driver Derrick Davis, 46, of a different Independence address attempted to turn left into a driveway.

The vehicle traveling between the tractor and the subcompact was not impacted. All vehicles were driven from the scene. No citations were reported issued.

190th Rd. west of Old Mill Rd.

A 1997 Chevy Suburban owned by the Marion-Florence school district and transporting three teenagers struck and killed a deer at 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

Deputies reported no injuries to driver Paula Frazier-Ash, 72, or passengers Ally Larson, 15; Jacob Kanive, 16; and Vince Vinduska, 19, all of Marion.

Frazier-Ash was able to drive the Suburban from the scene.
